MORE Pumpkin Science!!!

We read the book, How Many Seeds in a Pumpkin? by M. McNamara and learned that the attributes of pumpkins can tell us a lot about them! We used our newly gained knowledge to make smart predictions about how many seeds were in our big and little pumpkins! With a partner, we estimated how many seeds were in our "pile of pumpkin" and partners decided how to team up to count their seeds. Some took different roles, while others split the counting and some even made groups of seeds and counted by tens!
Did you know that the shade of orange and the lines on the outside of the pumpkin can give you clues about how many seeds are inside it?

Partners grouped their seeds to count by tens!

Further exploration awaits us at our science center!
