Happy New Year!

We read a book entitled, Squirrel's New Year's Resolution and we learned what a resolution is and why people make them! We came up with our own resolutions!

We created self-portraits to go with our resolutions! We have big plans for 2020!

After adding, "Retell the story in sequence" as a new strategy under C (Comprehension) on our C.A.F.E. reading menu, readers created puppets to retell the story of the Gingerbread Man to a partner. They are going to bring their puppets home next week to share the story with family members. We are reading and comparing all of the different versions of the Gingerbread Man.

Readers did a, "Turn and Talk" to tell partners what they predict will happen next in our gingerbread story. When done, they share what THEIR PARTNER thinks.
First share of 2020, "Something NEW to me!"
